Lake Komo – Thinktank

Delicate and enchanting new track from Manchester’s Lake Komo. ‘Thinktank’ is taken from the four piece’s recent limited edition double A-side. And sees them produce a delicate, mellow but vast soundscape. With soaring choruses, all juxtaposed against subtle and gentle synths. Sitting somewhere between folk and electro-pop. They’re the perfect band to escape with on a chilled out summers day. They’ve got new material due out very soon.

Become X XYLO – Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea

Remixes or reworkings aren’t something that we usually cover on LOVEPIE. We usually prefer to talk about the original source. But we found it hard to overlook this new reworking of XYLO’s ‘Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea’ by Paris/LA based Become. An offshoot of the EXGF collective. They’ve reworked the XYLO track into a more upbeat, almost reggae infused track with a subtle layering of DnB beats.

Automatic Writing – Icons

New track from London-based production duo and brothers Automatic Writing. If you’ve been left wondering what happened to all those Nu-Disco obsessed teens from back in 2008. Automatic Writing might go some way to answering your questions. ‘Icons’ is the evolution of that NME driven ‘Nu-Disco’ sound, which saw the likes of The Klaxons, and CSS dominate dances floors of the early noughties. An ambient electro journey through a soundscape of discarded nu-disco pop fragments, over the top synths and haunting vocals. The duo have been releasing tracks since 2012 and describe their sounds as Mutant Disco, and Synth-Pop. Which actually sums ‘Icons’ perfectly. Their forthcoming EP ‘New Colours’ is due for release soon.
