Lucy Mason – Seas of Grey //
Enchanting new track from London based singer/songwriter Lucy Mason. ‘Seas of Grey’ has the Florence and the Machine dialed turned right up to eleven, which is why it would be easy to make direct comparisons to Ms Welch. But ultimately Mason’s sound is much deeper and much more layered than that of Florence Welch. The track is out now.
Kaptan – Anywhere We Go //
While spelling my not be Seattle based Kaptan’s forte, what they appear to be good at is making incredibly upbeat, indie pop tracks. ‘Anywhere We Go’ with its soaring guitar melodies, all wrapped up in sweet falsetto vocals. It’s the sort of track that pops up at this time of year just in time for the summer. The track is out now on South By Sea.
Flor – Warm Blood
Sitting somewhere between, vast and expansive electro pop track, and indie love song. ‘Warm Blood’ by Oregon based four-piece Flor is a double edge track. With a subtle indie vocal, belying the fact that the whole thing feels like it could explode into full blown dance-floor filling mega track at any moment. ‘Warm Blood’ is available as a free download over on the bands Soundcloud.
