Owen Rabbit – Holy Holy
New sounds from Melbourne-based producer/singer Owen Rabbit. Fusing a soulful vocal with hypnotic electronic production, which is all wrapped up bubbling synths and rumbling layers. The track was written and recorded in his home studio in the sprawling Melbourne suburbs, and tackles the topics of religion and self-medication. ‘Holy Holy’ is streaming now.
Prep – Cheapest Flight
Time to kick back and take a rather chilled out flight with newcomers Prep. The London-based four-piece consists of a classical composer, a DJ, a Hip-Hop producer and a singer/songwriter. Which lends it’s self, for some rather eclectic influences. Which shine through in Prep’s slightly left-field, smooth electro, jazz-fused funky sound. ‘Cheapest Flight’ is the four-piece’s first track but expect to hear plenty more from them in the next few months.
Saskatchewan – Delusive
Dream-pop four-piece Saskatchewan are back with a brand new track, and a slightly new sound. It’s been two years, since we last heard from the Orlando-based band. So it’s not un-surprising that they’ve tweaked their sound a little. Moving away from the subtle, and delicate synths, in favour of a rougher, somewhat more rock-pop sound. It’s dream-pop meets 90’s Brit-pop. ‘Delusive’ is streaming on the bands Soundcloud now.
