It’s the second installment of The Bundle our new weekly look, at some of the tracks we’ve either missed or didn’t manage to find space for on the blog. Basically this is the place, we post all the tracks we missed while either nursing a hangover, or being too busy watching Netflix 😉
Strange Talk – When It Feels So Good
Remember Strange Talk, they released this, this and this ages ago. Well they’re back and looking well … slightly strange. The former four-piece have shed 50% of their mass and are now a duo. But their new slimmer profile is not all that has changed. They’re sporting a harder-edged sound. ‘When It Feels So Good’ is a riotous, disco-tinged, fast-paced electro dance pop track. Which somehow manages to meld the old Strange Talk sound with the new denser sound perfectly. The duo’s new EP is due for release in October.
Ten Fé – Make Me Better
Name changes always confuse me. I still haven’t gotten to grips with what Prince wants to be called these days, and don’t even talk to me about Jif (too soon). So imagine how I felt when I received the PR for the new Ten Fé track ‘Make Me Better’. A little confused. We’ve covered the London-based duo previously when they were simply known as Fé. But ‘Make Me Better’ is a slight departure, from the sound we heard on their debut ‘Time’. This time round it’s all about big anthemic melodies and stadium filling vocals. A sound reminiscent of the likes of Jagwar Ma, which is not surprising as producer Ewan Pearson worked with them on the duo’s new album. The new album is due for release later in the year.
Seyr – These Chords
We had only just posted a Seyr track on Monday’s Need To Hear, so when ‘These Chords’ appeared on Friday, we thought it’ll be best to save it for the Bundle. ‘These Chords’ is a slightly left-field experimental track, which creaks with emotion and a sense of longing. Seriously though if these two keep this production level up, we’ll be posting a Seyr track every day in a few months time.
