Welcome to the daily Need to Hear. A slice of the freshest and newest tracks that you need to hear today. Tracks today include newness from both Ben Khan, and Zero 7. A new single from Active Child and a track from newcomers Titanics. Check us out over on Twitter and Facebook, so you never miss anything.
Ben Khan – 1000
Follow up to Ben Khan’s ‘Youth’ which was released nearly a year ago. ‘1000’ is return to the style that we first saw on ‘Savage’ and the style that earned Khan plenty of comparisons to the likes of Jai Paul. Lots of distorted synths, and a rather kick-ass beat, come together to create something that’s a little less demure when compared to ‘Youth’. Taken from his forthcoming ‘1000’ EP which is released May 11 on Ben’s own imprint Blessed Vice.
Titanics – Terrain
New track from Albany, NY based indie pop duo Titanics. Merging mesmerizing falsetto vocals with a guitar infused, almost dream like melody. It’s a track that really lends itself to getting lost in. The track is up as a free download over on Titanics’ soundcloud.
Active Child – 1999
Los Angeles based Active Child is back with a new single and a new album, slated for a June release. The unassuming creator of subtle heartfelt electro ballads who set us all a flutter way back in 2011 with his debut album ‘You Are All I See’, is back with this atmospheric track.
Zero7 – 400 Blows
Zero7 the go to guys when you need a slice of chilled out exuberance are back with a new EP and single. ‘400 Blows’ is taken from ‘E.P.3’ and is a stripped back track which, features hand clap percussion and a hauntingly demure vocal from Danny Pratt. The EP which also features a collaboration with José González, and a remix by South African’s John Wizards is released March 30.
