Say iamamiwhoami to the man or woman on the street and you’re more than likely get a blank look, or risk being sectioned. It’s this ability to maintain an underground status while also been hugely popular and successful which draws me back again and again to Jonna Lee’s electro art project iamamiwhoami. It’s been interesting to see the project’s sound develop and evolve over the last four years, from a mysterious art project (we were rather baffled here) into a fully fledge audiovisual outfit.

While on first glance the first track ‘Chasing Kites’ taken from Lee’s new release ‘BLUE’ and follow up to 2013 release ‘bounty’ seems to be a straight forward, electro pop track. But really ‘Chasing Kites’ is a raspberry in the face of the likes Lady Gaga, ‘Chasing Kites’ is a true ‘Art Pop’ track, layered in meaning and framed by a strong vocal. Second track ‘Thin’ takes us back to the quintessential style and sound that set iamamiwhoami apart four years ago.

‘BLUE’ is due for release November 10 on To whom it may concern.
