It’s not everyday that you get a juggernaut of a artist such as Moby (ok maybe juggernaut isn’t the best description of Moby) remixing a rather less than mainstream artist such as iamamiwhoami which is why this is biggy. After hearing iamamiwhoami in a restaurant and liking what he heard Moby contacted his manager to find out more about them and discovered that they had a management company in-common. To cut a relatively long story short, Moby ended up remixing iamamiwhoami’s track ‘y’ which is taken from their new album ‘Bounty’.
With out wanting to totally re-build the track Moby took to overlaying a new melody and some what he calls ‘structural elements’ to enhance what was already in place. The result a track that holds on to the originals mysterious beauty while bringing something new to the table. It’s streaming and available for download now.
