New sound of the month this month are Mancunians Santiago Street Machine, who I recently saw at Manchester Pride, unfortunately that whole weekend is a little bit sketchy at best, so the write up about their performance I was going to do, had to be scrapped but here’s what I can remember. SSM create a high energy electro pop/rock sound, which ricochets from sythny electro, dubstep, indie rock, pop melodies and techno basslines, so a little bit of everything really. A dark sound which still holds up a guiding light leading you towards the next affirming pop-esq chorus. Their new single ‘Sinking Stone’ is due out 30th September.
