Flyte – Closer Together
New single from London based four-piece Flyte. ‘Closer Together’ takes the bands previous upbeat indie pop sound and corrals it into a more guitar led but overall subtle tone. The band have been holed up over the last six months in Bethnal Green, writing new material. With ‘Closer Together’ being the first track to emerge from that period. And it clearly marks a change of pace for the four-some. The bands new album is nearly finished so expect that in the next few months. ‘Closer Together’ is released July 31st via Island Records.
Shura – White Light
We sort of missed this when it first landed about a week ago. With it’s 80’s tinged synth led melody and hand clap beat, Shura’s ‘White Light’ is a perfect slice of electro pop. It’s already racked up a seriously huge play count on Soundcloud. Probably due in part to being picked up by Annie Mac and crowned ‘Hottest Record’. ‘White Light’ is due for release July 24th.
Tamper – Be Well
New track from Irish/Australian band Tamper. ‘Be Well’ is taken from the duo’s new self-titled EP which came out a few weeks ago. Garnering plenty of comparisons to Alt-J ∆, which is no doubt in part due to the duo’s raspy, folksy style of vocal. Vocally is where you should leave the Alt-J ∆ comparisons though. Tamper take a darker approach to electro pop. With low tempo, and dense melodies and scratchy guitar fragments, giving their sound plenty of atmosphere and depth.
