New sounds rolling out of London from new four piece Hugh and their RnB tinged synth pop debut EP ‘I Can’t Figure You Out’. While comparisons could be made to the likes of fellow Londoners AlunaGeorge, it’s the heartfelt downtempo moments which set Hugh apart from the aforementioned duo.
While at times Hugh seems to be content with revelling in the electro pop synths, they also seem more than happy to stop and create serene calm and emotional moments of understated drama too, through the use of restrained vocals and dense beats.
It’s this abilty to create moments of reflection in their sound that makes Hugh so interesting to listen to. Their debut EP ‘I Can’t Figure You Out’ is out now.
