Seattle became synonymous during the 1990s’ as the spiritual home of Grunge or as it’s sometimes known ‘The Seattle Sound’, with the likes of Nirvana and Pearl Jam calling the west coast city home. So it comes as no surprise to find a new electro-pop duo called Navvi who are building on the musical heritage that was laid out in the 90s’ and re-forging into something that drives the line between grunge and electro pop. An electro-grunge is you will.
Stripped back melodies, haunting, stark and melancholic vocals all set against a backdrop of sinister and dense beats, distorted guitars and percussion. Could this be the true face of Post-Grunge ? A grunge forged not from Guitars and Drums, but of the MacBook Pro ??
