Featuring the likes of Active Child, TEED and Glasser at first glance this may sound like another one of them godawful, Annie Mac compilation albums (quit it Mac !! lets face it you’ll never beat the kings of the compilation Kitsune), but alas it is not … it is in-fact the new album ‘Young Hunger’ from Oxford’s Chad Valley. Firmly shaking off the Chillwave tag, (which he dislikes) in a 11 track album that moves the artist towards the more ambient end of the pop bracket. All helped along by his rather cool group of friends. If nothing else this album is worth hearing just for the amazing collaborations, with ‘Manimals’ which features Active Child being a favorite of ours, and of course with the very cool pop-esq opener ‘I Owe You This’ which is a collaboration with Twin Shadow deserving a mention. It’s out now in all the usual places.
